We have a second fridge in our home for beer and other cold drinks. It is a Subcold Super 85 LED SS (the SS stands for stainless-steel door finish).
This fridge doesn't need to be on all year round, so it is connected via a smart plug, so that it can be turned on and off as required, our contextual smart home can track this and also it's energy usage. We have also connected a door contact sensor, so we can track when the door is opened and closed and generate a voice announcement and notification if it has been left open for too long.
The door being opened is detected by a micro-switch along the bottom of the fridge.
