There are several makes of smart kettles on the market but these don't really work for us, primarily because they have to be filled with water before they can be usefully used.
Using an app or voice control doesn't really make life simpler either. Once the kettle has boiled you still need to be present (to make the tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc.), so you might as well just press the kettle switch when you are ready to make a drink. The average kettle takes less than 30 seconds to boil.
Our preferred alternative approach is an integrated tap that can dispense boiling water on demand. The bottom line is that a smart kettle don't meet our key criteria for our smart home, which is improving our quality of life.
