We have recently started looking at adding a robotic lawn mower to our contextual smart home. The goal is full integration with our smart home and for our smart home to intelligently control it based on a number of factors, context and algorithms. Whilst some of the latest robotic lawn mowers are quite smart, they will never have access to the level of context and state information that the contextual smart home provides. Simply put, it makes much better decisions, resulting in a much better user experience.
We have documented our project to integrate a robotic lawn mower, to explain the on-going research in this space. Some of the things our contextual smart home is using to deliver this intelligent control are:
